Alameda Labor Council supports NAGE, which represents our EMS professionals in Alameda County, and the East Bay Automotive Machinists, who represent critical emergency personnel mechanics who maintain our ambulances, in asking the Board of Supervisors to protect your local heroes.
In Fall 2024, the County's third-party selection committee recommended AMR take over the EMS contract for ambulance services from the current provider, Falck.
This process did not consider the position of our local heroes, or the impact this decision would have on the working families supporting our emergency services. A final confirmation vote by the Board of Supervisors is expected soon.
Falck has been, and continues to be, the right choice for Alameda County families and is the preferred EMS provider among our local heroes, the EMTs, paramedics and critical emergency personnel.
With Falck, our EMS professionals know their jobs are secure and with a new company, the workforce protections nor jobs are guaranteed.
