On Tuesday, June 17th, the Alameda County Board of Supervisors voted to stand with EMS and to continue with Falck as the 911 provider for our county.
With this decision our EMS professionals know their jobs are secure and Alameda County families will continue to receive the first-class care Falck provides.
We would like to share our endless gratitude to the hundreds of families, neighbors, and community members who voiced their support to our Board of Supervisors. Alameda County showed it has the backs of our local heroes, the EMTs, paramedics and critical emergency personnel who work tirelessly to keep our communities safe.
We would also like to thank our Supervisors, who took the time and care to consider the position of our local heroes and the impact this decision would have on the working families supporting our emergency services.
What's Next?
Our Supervisors chose to reject the staff recommendation to transition to AMR as the County's 911 provider after determining that the selection process didn't protect the workforce and needed to be revised. County Staff will return to the Board of Supervisors in October with recommended next steps on future selection. Until then, our heroes jobs are secure thanks to your work.
